My name is Carol
Carol Lindsay, MSN, MAOM, RN, is a registered nurse, Long-Term Care Ombudsman, and nurse aide instructor with more than 30 years of experience in healthcare, education, and advocacy.

Over the course of her career, she has taught and mentored more than 20,000 nurse aide students and has worked in emergency care, labor and delivery, pediatrics, and long-term care settings. Her work has focused on improving quality of care, strengthening accountability, and supporting both residents and families navigating complex systems.

In addition to her professional background, Carol has personal experience as the sister of three siblings living with dementia. This has shaped her deep commitment to compassionate, ethical, and practical caregiving.
She also volunteers as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for children in the foster care system.

Through her writing, she shares real-world insight into aging, dementia, institutional care, and family advocacy, with the goal of making difficult topics more understandable and helping others feel less alone.
